Blue has been a popular color recently around School District of Rhinelander facilities. In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, SDR is joining with the community to celebrate our kids, families, and all the work done every day to provide safe, caring environments for the students in our schools. "The last year has been challenging for all of us and this is a chance to join the community to celebrate," the district stated in a press release. "Look for the blue ribbons and yard signs around the community as we all join together to celebrate our children and families!" Pictured, above, the window of the districts Hodag Connections Learning Center in downtown are painted with blue ribbons and messages promoting the cause. Inset, James Williams Middle School students tie blue ribbons on a tree in front of the school. The district is asking those who want to join in the celebration to wear blue on Fridays during the month of April. The month will end with "Family Time on the Turf" from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 30, where families will be able to spend time together in the Hodag Dome. Photos by Jamie Taylor/River News & Submitted.
