He was born March 12, 1938, in Rhinelander, to Russell and Elsie (Snaith) Craig.
Bob attended Rhinelander schools, graduating from RHS in 1956. He was employed at Rhinelander Paper Company for a short period of time before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Most of his time in the Corps was spent at Camp Pendleton, Calif. until his return to Rhinelander in 1958.
Bob married Judy Treu of Rhinelander in 1957. He returned to his employment at Rhinelander Paper Company and worked there until his retirement in 1998, in various departments, including converting.
Bob was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing.
Bob actively participated in the Ascension Grief Support Group and recently began serving as a volunteer for Ascension At Home Hospice.
A friend to all, he was known for his goofy sense of humor and quick wit. He always saw the best in people and was ready with a kind word when it was most needed.
Bob is survived by his daughters Carrie (Bob) Ninneman of Woodruff and Jeanne (Tim) Kuski of Kronenwetter; grandchildren Valerie (Ninneman) Rasmussen, Craig Kuski, and Maggie (Kuski) Daniels; great-grandchild Hank Daniels; his brother Jack (Barb) Craig of Harshaw; eight nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James "Jim" Craig, and his wife of 57 years, Judy.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Sept. 15, 2020 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home.
Just a reminder, social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
Bob's remains will be laid to rest in The Forest Home Cemetery.
