Virginia Priebe, age 95, of Rhinelander, died on Oct. 10, 2020 at Country Terrace, in Rhinelander.

She was born on May 17, 1925, in Milwaukee, to Roy and Dorothy Weggel. She attended school and church at the Lincoln Park Evangelical Lutheran Church and School. In 1943 she moved to Rhinelander with her family. In Rhinelander she was employed by Montgomery Wards, Penney's and Daniels/Printpak Packaging.

She met Joseph Priebe when he was home on leave from the Navy. After exchanging letters for the remainder of his service and upon his honorable discharge in 1946, they were married at the St. Mary's Rectory.They enjoyed over 55 years of marriage.

Virginia was a longtime member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of the GFWC Woman's Club of Rhinelander. She always looked forward to these get togethers along with her card club on Monday mornings.

Virginia also had many hobbies which included sewing, knitting, tatting, crocheting and painting. She often made her own clothes and even earned a blue ribbon at the fair for some of her creations. Each summer she looked forward to her garden and taking care of her house which was built by her husband Joe.

Virginia always looked forward to the family being together, especially Christmas each year. As she said her self "I have had a good life".

Virginia is survived by her sons Joseph (Lori) Priebe and Robert Priebe, her grandchildren Lisa (David) Kritz and Nancy (Cory) McCorkle, her great-grandchildren Dawson, Caleb and Connor, her brother Robert (Gloria) Weggel, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on June 27, 2003, her parents and her brother Roy Weggel Jr.

Visitation for Virginia will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. Private family services will follow. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements for the Priebe family.
