Workers from Pitlik and Wick buried a piece of concrete pipe culvert last week on U.S. Highway 17 between Rhinelander and Sugar Camp. The work is part of a $3,321,165 Wisconsin Department of Transportation project that will include the replacement of 21 culverts, curb & gutter replacements, milling, and an asphalt pavement overlay. The company plans to install all culverts in Fall 2020, shut down for winter, and then complete the work in June and July 2021, according to Tegan Griffith, WisDOT north central region communication manager.
