The Rhinelander Kiwanis Club's annual holiday poinsettia sale is underway. Kiwanian Deb Berns displays the lush holiday plants grown locally in Rhinelander by Ruth and Henning Hempel, owners of Forth Floral. Poinsettias sell for $18 each and can be purchased from any Kiwanian or by calling 715-369-5320. Only red plants are available. The last day to order plants is Wednesday, Nov. 25, with delivery on Dec. 2 and 3. Only 400 plants will be sold and late orders will be filled depending on availability. For businesses and individuals that need plants sooner, early delivery is available upon request. Funds raised from the sale are used to finance youth and family projects and programs in the Rhinelander community. Past Kiwanis projects funded in part from the poinsettia sales include the playground equipment at Pioneer Park, the greenhouse at the Rhinelander Food Pantry, the outdoor basketball court at Central School, and the children's art education classroom at ArtStart Rhinelander.
