Bob served in World War II in the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines in 1945. He was always very proud of his service. After, serving in the military he went on to Michigan Tech and received a degree in forestry. He later married and relocated in the Wausau area where he and his wife raised four children. While in Wausau, Bob worked in real estate, owned commercial photography studio, and was a consultant for the Wausau papers. After his children were grown, Bob moved to Rhinelander where he worked at Marplex until he retired. After, his retirement, he worked part-time at Home Depot.
Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pistol shooting, and going to Hodag Park to watch the boats and people. Bob spent many hours taping old movies, especially old westerns. John Wayne was his favorite. He enjoyed going to McDonalds once a week with a group of friends. Thank you Tom DeValk, for being Bob's longtime friend, he really enjoyed your company.
