On Feb. 8, 1950 she married Claude Metz and he preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1978. Soon after their marriage they built Claude's Rustic Aire on old highway 8 west, which they operated for many years. Earlier they had also lived in Milwaukee for a short period of time where Rosie was employed by Briggs and Stratton.
In 1969 Rosemary and Claude relocated to Canada where they owned and operated Marie's Bay Camp on Sturgeon Lake in Ontario. The camp is still operated by her family till this day. They had then built their own home in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada in 1972-73.
In 1986 Rosie married Robert "Bob" Campbell and they continued to reside in Canada for a greater part of the year. They both enjoyed spending time at the camp in Marie's Bay and were well known to many of the guests who frequented the camp throughout the years. She and Bob also enjoyed traveling themselves. They traveled all throughout the United States, mainly in the winter months. A hobby they enjoyed together was making rugs and they had made over a hundred of them over the years. After Bob's death Rosie returned to Rhinelander to live with her sister Joan.
Rosie enjoyed life wherever she resided. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and gardening, especially her flowers. In her later years she enjoyed volunteering at the St. Joseph's Thrift Shop and playing cribbage at the Senior Center. Above all else she loved being with family and friends and will be missed.
Rosie is survived by her daughter Penny Mason, her stepson Richard (Sally) Metz, her grandchildren Troy (Tina), Sarah (Ryan), Jonathan, Kevin, Elizabeth (Jared), and Melissa, her great-grandchildren, her sisters Dolly Peterson and Joan (Ed) Ruether, her brothers Richard (Shirley) Jarvis and Larry (Sandy) Jarvis, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. In addition to her husbands, Rosie was also preceded in death by her son Twig, four sisters and six brothers.
Rosie's family would like to thank Sarah and Ryan, Troy and Tina, her dear friend Michelle, Aspirus Hospice Care and Betty Metz, whom she talked to twice a day, for all of their help.
