Donald "Don" Arthur Pelletier
He was born on June 18, 1931, in Green Bay, to Arthur James and Sarah (Ludwig) Pelletier. Don was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander and was a 1949 graduate of Rhinelander High School. While in high school, he enjoyed playing accordion at several high school dances and get-togethers. Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed at Lake States Paper Mill for 40 years where he served as a supervisor and president of the United Papermakers Union. He retired in 1995 after being employed for 40 years.
In retirement Don enjoyed golfing, remodeling, spending his winters in Florida with his wife, Catherine, traveling to various states, babysitting his grandkids and sharing his musical talents by playing the accordion. He also enjoyed watching football and was a devoted Packers fan. Don lived for his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. He had an infectious smile with a distinct laugh that could be heard from a distance. Don was blessed to have celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary on April 16 and will be dearly missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife Catherine "Sue"; sons, Gary, Tom, Paul (Tina) and Steve; daughters, Linda and Renee (fiancé Mitch Ives); grandchildren: Ryan, Sacha, Michelle, Michael, Nicholas, Luke, Katrina and Sage, along with four beautiful great-grandchildren; Katie, Kayla, JJ and DeAndre and by one sister-in-law, Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sarah; brothers, Robert, Pat and Ray and a daughter-in-law, Krista.
The graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Northland Memorial Park. Rev. Kari Vadis will officiate.
A visitation and memorial service will take place at a later date, when once again it will be safe to gather.
