Site preparation continues on the Hodag Sports Complex as the site is brought up to a much higher elevation to aid in stormwater and snow melt will not cause flooding. Once the site preparation is finished, the concrete grade beam that will anchor the air supported dome will be constructed.

Pictured above right: A member of the Rettler Corporation works on placing stakes for surveying purposes into the area that will eventually become the two softball fields at the sports complex. The extra dirt will be removed and the area leveled to the new grade as the dome and the fields will be fenced and the dugouts will be built this year, but the fields will not be ready to play on until next spring to allow the grass to firmly take root.

Pictured below right: Workers were busy late last week installing storm sewer piping at the site of what will become the Hodag Sports Complex. The design for the complex and the air-supported dome that will be its centerpiece includes a system to drain rain and snow melt away from the site to prevent flooding. The dome and most of the complex are still scheduled to be in use sometime in September.
