Gloria was born on Sept. 20, 1935, in Antigo, the daughter of William and Vivian (Stuempges) Tews. Gloria was united in marriage on Jan. 24, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antigo to Anthony J. Steber. The couple lived 20 years in Alpena, Mich. prior to moving to Crescent Lake in 1985.
Gloria enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing and bird watching. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting and playing bridge.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Anthony; four children, Jeanne Steber and Mary Assink of Holland, Mich., Dr. Michael (Debbie) Steber of Alpena, Mich., Lisa Bello and John Gesualdi of New Canaan, Conn. and Kathy (Todd) Rasmussen of East Troy. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Michelle (John) Sgalia, Jessica (Ben) Hummel, Kelli (Brian) Nowak, Lauren (Clayton) Pope, Andrew (Vanessa) Bello, Peter Bello, Kyle Rasmussen and Aaron Rasmussen and one great-granddaughter, Mia Sgalia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital, Ascension at Home Hospice and Dr. Christopher Koeppl for the care everyone provided to Gloria.
At Gloria's request there will be no visitation or service.
