Dan's family moved to Rhinelander when he was a child. He attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1968. After his schooling he entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany in communications for two years. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and was employed in construction for a number of years. In 1991 he joined his future wife Susan in operating Mraz Vending. Dan was a part of the business until his retirement in 2013. He married Susan (Mraz) on Dec. 17, 2002 and God blessed them with a little over 17 years of marriage.
In his spare time his favorite thing to do was anything that involved his grandchildren. Throughout the years he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports. Recently, he found pickleball to be an enjoyable activity. Dan had a great smile and was always willing to help family and friends with anything they needed.
Dan is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Shannon (Nickolas) Willett and Christie (Aaron) Wulk, his grandchildren Brittany, Madeline, Kai and Andreas, his stepsons Jason and Adam Reynolds, his sisters Patricia (Michael) Harvey, Mary (Lester "Butch") Gregory and Kathy (Steven) Zastrow, his brother Glenn (Priscilla) Johnson, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was loved and will be missed by them all.
There are no services scheduled at this time given the present situation but you are welcome to leave your private condolences for Susan and the family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Johnson family.
