Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport director Matt Leitner stands in the middle of the expanded secure holding area Wednesday morning. The area was built to accommodate more than the 50 passengers that can currently fly out of the airport on the planes that Delta uses for passenger service. To get the area ready to use Wednesday morning, the screening equipment used by the Transportation Safety Administration had to be reoriented after the evening flight out Tuesday. The 6:45 a.m. flight to Minneapolis left on time with passengers using the new area. The project was paid for primarily with Federal Aviation Administration funds.
