Mike was employed with Headwaters Inc. from 1974 to 2015; he dedicated his career working with people who had disabilities. He coached youth softball for many years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting on his property in Iron and Oneida counties. Mike loved parades, Fourth of July fireworks and most of all his Green Bay Packers.
Mike was a caring, kind, sweet person who loved his son and wife more than anything in the whole world and told them everyday how much he loved them in words, hugs and support. He loved being with friends, dinners out, vacations to Alaska and Florida, Wisconsin Dells, cool fall days, the smell of wood smoke and Sunday dinners. He loved all his sweet pets he had throughout the years. He enjoyed and was content with the simple things in life. He especially appreciated his time in the kitchen making homemade beef ravioli and Christmas cookies with his wife Sue.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Susan Piazza of Lake Tomahawk, son Jeff (Teresa Bartman) Piazza of Lake Tomahawk, his sister Fleury Piazza of Wausau, his paternal aunt Doris Maccani, his mother-in-law Shirley Aimone of Ironwood, his brothers-in-law Gary Aimone of Hurley; Joel (Joellen) Aimone of Ewen, Mich.; John (Tina) Aimone of Woodruff, and by his nieces Jill and Megan and nephew Ben and special cousins Darcy Winkowski, Fred (Kathy) Friedman, Mary (Rob) Super, Joe (Kim) Maccani and Tom (Pam) Maccani, Rod (Jeanne) Smith and Lousie (Patrick) Bunjovac.
