Rev. Orris Erie (Pastor Bart) Bartholomew
Rev. Orris Erie (Pastor Bart) Bartholomew passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the age of 93. He was born on the family farm in North Dakota to Vernon and Clara (Erie) Bartholomew. He grew up during the Great Depression in Superior and was a World War II veteran, having served in both the U.S. Marines Corps and U.S. Navy. Having dropped out of high school to enlist in the Marines, Orris (Bart) went on to not only earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, but earn two masters' degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. In addition, he became an ordained minister after graduating from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and served congregations in several churches across Wisconsin. In addition to being a minister, he worked for the State of Wisconsin in the Department of Health and Social Services where he held a number of positions including retiring as the acting Regional Director for the Northern Region.

Bart was originally married to Beverly and had three sons. Later in life he married Marcia, both of whom preceded him in passing. He is survived by sons Terry (Jo Ann), Brian and Mark (Marcie), stepchildren Suzanne Gehl (Gary Erickson), Chris Hunter-Skeans (Paula), and David Van Brunt (Carrie), along with the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.

In the closing days of his life, he reflected on all of the people he has served and loved and would like to share with all the following words, "Take no anxious thoughts today, for tomorrow will take care of itself."
