Mike was born on Sept. 21, 1942, in Rhinelander, the son of Clayton and Kathleen Sweo.
He graduated from Rhinelander High School. He married Geraldine Diver on Dec. 6, 1985. Mike was self-employed as a landscaper and plowed snow in the winter months. He loved the Packers football games and going on long rides and loved his sweets.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine and his children Michael Clayton (Amy) Sweo Jr., Rick Sweo and Tammy Sweo; stepchildren Dean (Denese) Bettinger, Jesse (Lauire) Bielen and Travis (Tricia) Gechas; grandchildren Bryce Sweo and stepgrandchildren Megan Bettinger, Jenna Bettinger, Angel Rigney, Johnathon Stevens, Avery Bielen, Kole Gechas, Kylie Gechas and Hailey Buettner; great-grandchildren Haylee Anderson, Gavyn Rigney and Brynlee Stevens. He is also survived by his brother James Patrick Sweo, nephew Clayton Sweo and his beloved pet Chloe (baby) dog.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Kathleen Sweo.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, with a Graveside Service at 3 p.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau. Online condolences may be shared at www.nimsgernfuneral.com.
