James Robert Tifft Joined his parents, grandparents and sister in heaven on July 11, 2020.

He was born on Dec.19, 1953 to Nora Irene New and Robert Francis Tifft.

Jim was raised in Delavan, along with his two siblings, Shelly and Michael.

Jim graduated from Delavan-Darien High school in 1972.

Jim met the love of his life, Romona, on June 24, 1987. They married on Dec.1, 1989. They were married for 23 years and remained best friends. He became a very proud father to his amazing son, Daniel, on June 28, 1990 and then again on Oct. 6, 1992 to his beautiful daughter, Sarah. Of all the things Jim loved in the world it was his children the most.

Jim was a collector and lover of old VWs. He loved nature and taught his family a lot about birds and animals. He was a great teacher to his children. He got such joy from the simplest things in life. Jim loved to cook. One of his signature traits was being able to make a delicious soup out of any combination of leftovers. He always made sure to make a huge batch to share with his family.

He was an avid Packers fan. Watching the games will never be the same without him. He was the loudest cheerleader. Sometimes jumping up so high to cheer for a touchdown that a ceiling tile would break.

He loved to go to the cabin with his family and enjoy time around a campfire, fishing, boating and exploring. Family time meant everything to him.

His sense of humor and contagious laugh will live on forever through his children. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Jim is survived by his son, Daniel Robert Tifft, of Rhinelander and daughter, Sarah Audrey Tifft, Wausau; his soon-to- be son-in-law Neil Laes, Wausau; his ex-wife and best friend, Romona Tifft, his brother in-law Joseph Foust, and his brother Michael Tifft, Delavan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his stepfather, Fred Doolittle, and his sister, Shelly.

Jim was a private person and requested a private family service. You may leave your private condolences for the Tifft family at www.carlsonfh.com.

The Carlson Funeral Home(715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements for the Tifft family.
