Kim was born in Rhinelander Jan. 13, 1958, the daughter of Wayne L. and Jeanne (Fish) Leavitt. She attended grade school in Starks and was a 1975 graduate of Rhinelander High School. While in high school Kim was a member of the high school band, playing the clarinet.
She was employed at J.C. Penney, Friendly Village and was a Certified Medical Assistant at the Rhinelander Clinic. She last was employed at Foster and Smith until her health became an issue.
She became disabled due to the radiation treatment for cancer, which in turn caused heart valve issues which led to three heart surgeries.
Kim had a great zest for life! She loved nature and dogs, oil painting, fishing, camping, sitting by the fire pit, making jewelry and picking mushrooms and using them in wonderful dishes. She was such a good cook. But most of all, Kim loved her family. She enjoyed family meals and being together on holidays and kayaking with Aunt Carol and family. She also loved the friendships from her youth.
Kim will be dearly missed by her mother; Jeanne Leavitt, sisters; Debora Leavitt, Robin (Jeff) Recha, niece; Melynda Coleman, nephew; Matthew (Lisa) Fish and two great-nephews; Eric and Ean Fish. Also surviving is two aunts and one uncle; Carol (Jim) and Mike (Cheryl) Fish. Kim is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; Wayne Leavitt.
The visitation for Kim will take place Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 2 until 5 p.m.
Kim was loved and will be missed by all her family.
