He was born on May 7, 1932, in Milwaukee, the son of Leroy and Margaret (Blumenberg) Lennart.
Bill was raised in Milwaukee and attended schools there. After his graduation from high school he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Milwaukee area and married the love of his life, Patricia Severson. They were married on Dec. 30, 1954 in Milwaukee and God blessed them with over 61 years of marriage. They lived in Milwaukee for a couple of years until moving to Menomonee Falls where they raised their five children.
Bill was first employed by A O Smith and then began his career in construction at A J Heinen Inc.. He worked in masonry on many recognizable projects in the Milwaukee area. Going back to his parents, Bill and his family vacationed in the Pelican Lake area. In 1998 he and his wife Patricia moved there permanently. They loved their home on Pelican Lake and all the outdoor activities it afforded them. He loved to fish, garden, bike (he biked the 17 miles around the lake with his daughter just before his triple bypass at the age of 80), ice fishing and picking berries. He then enjoyed making pies and jams with the berries he picked. He loved sitting in the sun, even in the winter while ice fishing.
Bill was always grateful for all the blessings he received from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a longtime member of the United Church of Christ in Elcho where he worshipped regularly. He was most grateful for the wonderful family that God gave him, all of whom he loved dearly.
Bill is survived by his children Dennis Lennart, William (Donna) Lennart, Dorene (Donald) Lambrecht, Brian Lennart and Dawn (Tom Evert-fiancé) Jug, his 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his sisters Marge (Jerry) Regal and Kathleen (Dale) Hanson, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia on Aug. 28, 2016, his parents and his sisters Lois and Carol.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Elcho. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ with Reverend Paul Veldman officiating. Interment will follow in the Enterprise Memorial Cemetery. Due to the ongoing pandemic, attendance numbers for the actual service will be limited and all attending are asked to wear masks.
