The charges
Facing charges are Aleisha Dreher, 32, Brian Galek, 23 and David McCluskey, 24, all of Eagle River.
McCluskey is charged with two counts of manufacture/deliver amphetamine (conspiracy to commit), possess methamphetamine precursors (party to a crime), knowingly possess methamphetamine waste, intent to dispose methamphetamine waste, possess methamphetamine (party to a crime), and knowingly solicit/direct/use another person to purchase pseudoephedrine. He is also facing misdemeanors including possession of drug paraphernalia (party to a crime) and three counts of bail jumping. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
In court for an adjourned initial appearance Monday morning, McCluskey requested a bond amendment.
Assistant District Attorney Chad Lynch opposed the motion and Judge Neal Nielsen ultimately denied it.
Dreher is facing felony counts of manufacture/deliver amphetamine (conspiracy to commit, party to a crime), possess methamphetamine precursors, purchase more than 7.5 grams pseudoephedrine, possession of meth (party to a crime), knowingly solicit/direct/use another person to purchase pseudoephedrinerine, possession of THC (party to a crime).
During a Monday morning initial appearance, Dreher was represented by public defender Chad Lynch, though it was indicated a private attorney will be hired. She is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
Galek is facing two counts manufacture/deliver amphetamine (conspiracy to commit and party to a crime, respectively) and misdemeanor possess drug paraphernalia (party to a crime).
The investigation
According to court reports, the investigation began in October 2018 after someone called police to request a welfare check on Dreher.
While she was not found to be in danger, the responding Three Lake Police Department believed there may be illegal drugs involved, the complaint states.
One day later, the Oneida County sheriff's office received a call stating McCluskey was manufacturing meth in Three Lakes.
Following further investigation it was alleged McCluskey was buying pseudoephedrine, AA lithium batteries, drain opener, camp fuel, solvent naphtha and methamphetamine. He'd use the items to make meth at area campsites and later a hotel, according to court reports.
In April 2019, officers responded to a report that two individuals were smoking a pipe inside a truck near Lac du Flambeau and found Dreher and McCluskey, the complaint states.
A vehicle search yielded a pipe and white power later determined to be meth.
Later in 2019, the two were seen on video purchasing pseudoephedrine, the complaint continues. From August to November 2019, Dreher was seen on camera five times at Eagle River stores buying pseudoephedrine, some with her own ID and others with a stolen ID, violating federal law.
McCluskey was seen on camera in Eagle River in the fall of 2019 buying lye and pseudoephedrine as well as batteries and instant cold packs - items all used to make meth, according to the complaint.
In all, it is alleged that McCluskey purchased pseudoephedrine 42 times and was blocked 31 times for going over the 30 day legal limit.
Dreher made 30 purchases and was denied fives times, it is alleged. Galek was said to have made 15 purchases and was prohibited on 14 occasions. He began being seen on video involved with the others in late 2019, allegedly buying items to make meth, court reports state.
All of this investigative worked led to the execution of a search warrant at 916 E. Wall Street on Jan. 17, which led to the charges.
None of the parties charged may have contact with each other.
They may not return to the raided property and must maintain sobriety, according to court records.
