A military couple are the proud parents of the first baby of the year delivered at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. Dieter Ryan Fischer was born at 5:28 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4. He is the son of Ashley and Brandon Fischer of Pelican Lake. Baby Dieter checked in at 7 lbs 3.8 ounces and 19 inches. He is the second boy for the family. This photo of mom and baby was taken with dad who connected via Skype while serving in Afghanistan.
