He was born 91 years ago on April 19, 1928 to Peter and Helen (Krefta) Shippy in Stevens Point.
In June of 1950 he married Patricia Hackney and they had four children: Peter Shippy, Patti (Tom) Ksionsk, Susan (James) Haessly and Shawn (Thom) Dobeck.
Myron loved the outdoors and his solitude. He hunted and fished almost daily. He was very proud of his catches which included several record muskies. But ice fishing gave him nature's peace.
He worked on the Soo Line Railroad for over 40 years, keeping his brakeman position so he could stay outside.
He is survived by his children along with their spouses and seven grandchildren: Maggi, Brandy, Seth, Molli, Josh, Amanda and Marti; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon, Max, Trevor, Kaleb, Sadie, Evan, Charlotte, Annabelle and Elowyn.
He joins his wife Patricia of 65 years; both parents; his sister, Adeline, brother, Greg, and beloved daughter-in-law, Barb.
Myron's family would like to thank Ascension at Home Hospice for their support and extreme gratitude to Ruth Congelton CNA and Kelly Wojtalewicz RN who eased his final journey.
"GOTTA RUN, THE CUBS ARE ON!! THEN I'M GOIN FISHIN".
As per Myron's wishes, there will be no service or burial. A Celebration of Life is being planned in July by his family.
