Bill was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. He had a deep interest in the history of the Masons and was involved throughout the years with Rhinelander Lodge No. 242, including service as a Past Master. He served in the Marine Reserves and was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bill was a very kind and gentle soul; he had a loving and generous heart. He had many interests, including woodworking, reading, and spending time at the lake property in Delta, Wis., but he especially loved preparing holiday meals and cooking for his family. He created many special recipes which were favorites of his children and grandchildren, notably his spaghetti sauce and eggrolls.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Doris ("Jean") Lonie and four children, Steven (Tammy) Lindenberg, Michael (Teresa) Lindenberg, William (Paula) Lonie and Suzanne (Mark) Dunco; nine treasured grandchildren, Derek (Chelsey), Stevie, Brody, Zachery, Alec, Alessandra, Frank, Giuliana, and Olivia; four dear step-grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Jeremiah and Jordan and six precious great-grandchildren, Saniyah, Parker, Gracie, Nora, Luca and Grace who all meant the world to him. He is survived by many special family members and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 110 Conro Street, Rhinelander, WI. Father Maria Vallabhaneni will officiate. A Masonic Memorial Service will begin at 12:30 PM on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at the Masonic Lodge of Rhinelander, 23 E. Davenport. A luncheon and visitation will follow at the Masonic Lodge.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Masonic Lodge of Rhinelander, No. 242 where it will be used to fund local charities.
