Middle school Nordic competes at state
Nora Rutkowski led the contingent for the Rhinelander girls, placing 14th out of 60 skiers in the two-day pursuit race that included a roughly 2 1/2-kilometer classic race on Saturday and a 2 1/2-kilometer freestyle race on Sunday. She completed the events with a combined time of 27 minutes, 30.6 seconds.
Brynn Teter also cracked the top 20 overall for the Hodag girls, taking 20th (29:28.2). Luna Grage was 44th (35:33.1), Mya Gillen was 48th (37:13.8) and Katie Marshall finished 51st (37:58.7).
Ryan Morien was 16th in a field of 103 skiers for the Rhinelander boys, completing the two races in a time of 23:55.9. Mason Shinners was 20th (24:13.9), Olin Slette finished 51st (27:59.8), Charlie Loomis was 65th (29:20.1), Carter Nelson was 96th (38:27.0) and Calvin Loomis finished 97th (40:10.0).
