Robert "Bob" A. Orgeman
Bob was born in Antigo on Tuesday, July 29, 1947 to William A. and Ione E. (Haferbecker) Orgeman. The family lived in Antigo and Bob was a 1966 graduate of Antigo High School. He then attended U.W. Oshkosh where he studied liberal arts and psychology.
He was drafted into the United States Army where he served in the 23rd. Infantry during the Vietnam War, from 1969 until 1971.
During Bob's second tour in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery and valor in a hostile situation.
He was united in marriage to Linda Seis in Antigo at St. Hyacinths Catholic Church in 1973. The couple were blessed with two children: Chris and Kerri. He later was married to Merri Zimmermann at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha. The couple would later be blessed with a daughter, Erin.
Bob moved to Oshkosh in 1978 to complete his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and Psychology, graduating in December of 1980.
From 1980 until 1984, Bob and Merri ran a shelter and group home for juvenile delinquents in Neenah.
In August of 1984 they moved to Rhinelander where the couple operated the first independent living group home for seniors.
In 1985 he began working at Peterson Health Care as a Geriatric Social Worker.
Beginning in 1995 he was employed with Ministry Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Hospital as a Medical Social Worker and Discharge Planner.
He retired in 2012 due to a diagnosis of cancer. The cancer, which was caused by the exposure to Agent Orange, returned in 2019.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, the D.A.V., and Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the N.R.A.
Bob enjoyed trout fishing, hunting for grouse, rabbit, deer and most of all duck. He also enjoyed trips to North Dakota and nature photography.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Merri; children: Chris (Stacey) Orgeman of Birnamwood, Kerri Orgeman of Antigo and Erin (Joe) Rozanski of Pewaukee; four grandchildren: Jordan Orgeman, Zoe Orgeman, Holly Orgeman and August Rozanski; two brothers; William (Kathy) Orgeman of Green Bay and Tim (Peggy) Orgeman of Hudson.
Also surviving are special friends, Tom Ahlers, Mike Johnson and John Heinrich, all of Antigo. Bob is further survived by, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Dennis Orgeman.
The visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating.
At the conclusion of the memorial service, military honors will be conducted by the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post #3143 and by two representatives from the United States Army.
