By By River News Staff-
"It is with mixed emotions to announce that Gaber Electric, Inc. will be closing our doors effective Dec. 18, 2020," the brothers announced in a press release. "We have been very fortunate to have worked with so many wonderful customers, contractors, vendors and local businesses throughout the past 53 years."
According to the company website, Gene and Bernice Gaber started the business in 1967 at a location on 918 Mason Street in Rhinelander. In 1969 the business purchased Rhinelander Electric located at 1538 N. Stevens Street. Tom and Dave bought the business in 1999, when their father retired.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for being a part of our story," they said. "A special thank you to our parents Gene and Bernice Gaber for starting Gaber Electric, Inc. in 1967, and allowing us to work in such a great community. As we close this chapter of our lives, we look forward to what the future holds. Dave will continue to work in the electrical trade in the Rhinelander area as Tom looks to pursue different goals."
The release also notes that the brothers would encourage their customers to call T.J. De Witt and Co. for their electrical needs.
"It has been a pleasure working with them throughout the years and we are confident in their ability to handle all your projects," the Gabers said. "Thank you to all our friends and neighbors in the greater Northwoods area."
