Raeburn A. Wachal
Raeburn was born in Rhinelander on Jan. 18, 1940, to Omer J. and Una F. (Shefstad) Pelletier. She was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1959 graduate of Rhinelander High School. For a time Raeburn had lived in Cambridge, Wis. but most of her life was spent living in Rhinelander. She was employed at Friendly Village and later was employed in the bakery department at Ray's Castle Foods in Rhinelander and Bob's Super Value in Three Lakes.
For 10 years Raeburn lived with her good friend Ed Fenton before moving into the Rhine Haus Apartments and living there from 2017 until 2020.
Raeburn stayed close with a group of her classmates from high school. This group would meet once a month for lunch and she cherished her time with her friends.
Raeburn enjoyed knitting and crocheting and baking and cooking. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Joseph Wachal and fiancé Vicky Freidel of Tomahawk, and Lori Palmer of Rhinelander; three grandchildren: Alicia Wachal and fiancé Steven Shelly of Wausau, Olivia Wachal and fiancé Tyler Arndt of Tomahawk, and Jessica (Adam) Robinson of Rhinelander; nine great-grandchildren; Gracie, Ava, Jack, Nolan, Deekin, Adaline, Evelyn, Landyn and Brynley, and one brother, Jack (Phyllis) Pelletier of Washington. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Terry Ann Wachal and her granddaughter Heather (Travis) Juedes.
