Jerry was born in southern Wisconsin on Feb. 25, 1937 and spent his youth in that area. He served in the Army for 4 1/2 years, much of it in Germany. When he left the Army, he became an electrician; but working inside was not for Jerry. In 1966 he bought a resort in Sugar Camp and moved his young family to the Northwoods. He and Marlene ran Indian Trail Lodge until the mid '70s when they started Jerry's Septic and Excavating, which they operated until they retired in 2005.
Jerry was a man of many interests, motorcycles, radio-controlled airplanes, trap shooting, golf, bike riding, boating, fishing and just generally having a good time. He was a faithful friend, a loving husband and a tough but devoted father.
Jerry lived by the credo that you needed to do at least one good deed every day, he could be found building decks for friends, fixing faucets, and many other things. He had an incredible sense of humor and was never far from the action!
Jerry's Roman Catholic faith was a very important part of his life. He was never known to miss Mass on the weekend, no matter where he was or what he was doing. He spent many years contributing to the community of St Kunegunda using his talents wherever they were needed.
Jerry is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son David (Julie), daughters Lisa Kanz (Mark), and Jennifer George (Pat) and his sister Judy Will. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren Tyler (Amy) and Hannah Jakubowski; Chelsea, Evan and Spencer Kanz; Amara, McKenna, and Adia George; and 2 great-grandsons Lincoln and Lawson Jakubowski. He also leaves behind Marlene's family, Dorothy's children and family, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Marlene of 57 years, his mother Marcella, father Roman and his brother James (Jim).
Jerry will be missed by his many friends both in Wisconsin and Florida, his family and especially his wife Dorothy.
