Nettie is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey (Barbara) Skochil, Eagan, Minn. and Daniel Skochil, Rhinelander; two grandchildren, David (Ruthie) Skochil, Washington Heights, NY and Elizabeth Skochil (Sean Struik), Curacao; two great-grandchildren, Richard Skochil and Robert Skochil, Washington Heights, NY; one sister, Rosemary Gerber of Mukwonago; two brothers, Michael (Lonnie) and Ronald Cole both of Crandon; special nieces Trudy Nievinski of Rhinelander and Caroline Oberholtzer of Crandon; several nieces and nephews; our extended Kienitz family: Steve (Lori), Carol (Bob) Carpenter and Gail (Paul Sniegowski); and long-standing extended family friend Kathleen Thom.
Nettie grew up on her parents' dairy farm just east of Crandon. She attended the Wolf River School and later Crandon High School. She married Richard Skochil of Monico on Jan. 24, 1948 in Crandon. They resided in Rhinelander. Over the years, Nettie was a waitress at The Sportsman Café, sales person at Leo's Sport Shop and DeByle's and chairside assistant for Dr. Paul Lidral. She retired in 1992.
She will be missed by her family and friends. We are grateful for the stupendous support and care from Ministry Home Care Hospice and the amazing staff at Friendly Village.
Due to the pandemic there will be no services at this time for Nettie. Look for a memorial service later next spring when Covid is no longer a threat for gatherings. You may leave your private condolences for the Skochil family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Skochil family.
