Hodag Farmers Market report: A case of writer's block
By Cassie Shefchik-
I usually start formulating an idea for an article on Saturday or Sunday. Sometimes ideas come from the newest in-season, must- have produce items. Other times it's from something I've seen while people watching. Or, if a new vendor joins the market I'll write about that.
But this week I've got nothing. Oh, I had an idea. I've had the idea for the last two weeks but the universe is not really working in my favor....... or so I think.
Here's the problem: for the last two weeks I've been trying to get a specific photo from my phone to the computer. This is not usually a difficult task but for me it's arduous and monumental in scale! I am not adept in technology, I never have been. It took me over three years just to learn I could take a photo with my little flip phone and send it to my email account.
You would have been embarrassed to watch me try to type my email address into that little cellphone. Usually someone nearby grows weary, grabs my phone, and a second later are finished while I sit in awe. My first couple attempts at texting were tough but those around me thought it hilarious! Technology: a burden for a few of us and an asset for the rest.
The Hodag Farmers' Market will be held at Rhinelander's Pioneer Park this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Since I'm experiencing writer's block about this article, I'll leave you with a photo of beautiful Sungold cherry tomatoes (the best tasting cherry tomatoes I have ever tasted) and it only took me 5 sad attempts to get it from the computer to an email!
