Detert finishes college hockey career at St. Cloud State
Detert played in 27 games for the Huskies her senior season, recording 15 shots on goal and eight blocked shots, according to a St. Cloud State press release.
Over her four-year career as a Husky, Detert appeared in 80 games, the release states.
This season, Detert was honored as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and named to the WCHA All-Academic Team for the third time in her career.
A member of the "always rugged" Western Collegiate Hockey Association and an NCAA Division I affiliate, St. Cloud State University was founded in 1869 and is located in the city of St. Cloud, Minn.
In a 2017 interview with the River News, Detert talked about some of the differences between high school and college hockey.
"It's heads and shoulders above high school hockey, to say the least," she said, referring to competition in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. "You're playing with the best girls in the country. I had to realize that's what it had to take. It's kind of nice in that aspect. Just in the skating, your brain has to go a million times faster just to get that last pass off or get the shot off two seconds faster. Two seconds is a lot in any sport, if you ask me. That's been unique to get used to."
