Public invited to participate in scarecrow contest
"We are currently looking for entries by local organizations, school clubs or classrooms, businesses and individuals," the release states. "First prize is $300, second prize is $200 and third prize is $100. There is no entry fee and a straw bale and post are provided. Scarecrows/scarecrow scenes must be on display by Saturday, Oct. 5 at Hanson's Garden Village. Voting starts on Oct. 5 and goes through Oct. 26 with winners being chosen by popular vote."
Scarecrows will be on display to the public during normal business hours at Hanson's Garden Village in Rhinelander and must be picked up after the contest by Oct. 31, the release states.
