Bake sale benefits National Alliance on Mental Illness
Staff from Ascension St. Mary's Behavioral Health organized a bake sale last month in conjunction with National Suicide Prevention Week. The sale was a success, and staff also spoke with people about suicide, how to recognize signs and guide people to get the help they need, organizers said in a press release.

The bakery table had to be replenished six times and ended up raising more than $1,000. All proceeds will benefit National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Lakes and the Northern Lakes Center, a drop-in center intended to help people with mental health diagnoses stay out of the hospital, and find greater meaning in their lives.
