In addition to her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and artist, Bev was an active real estate broker in Milwaukee and then in Rhinelander where she was part of the team with Rhinelander Realty and First Weber Realty.
Bev had a passion for drawing and painting and earned Best of Show awards at the annual Nicolet College art exposition and Oneida County Fair. She displayed many of her paintings throughout her home and was very proud of her accomplishments as an artist.
Bev loved planting flowers and gardening and was famous for producing her "Nicols Pickles". She loved cooking and her grandma always told her that the best recipes were the ones tested by tasting! Bev was always the one to host every holiday gathering and was so happy to see her children and grandkids.
Bev loved the outdoors and participated in fishing, camping, and picking wild mushrooms. Some of her favorite times were watching Turner Classic Movies while enjoying popcorn, a diet Pepsi, and her everyday treat of ice cream!
Bev is survived by her husband, David Nicols; her daughter, Susan (John) Bart; her sons, Dean (Sandra) Rodziczak, Jeffrey (Maureen) Rodziczak, Steven (Tisha) Rodziczak, and Robert (Jennifer) Rodziczak; stepchildren, Gail Sadler, Vincent Nicols, and Jeffrey Nicols; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her cat companions, Stewart and Bella.
She is further survived by two sisters, Shirley (Eugene) Kaczkowski and Cindy Lemery and a brother, Kenneth (Jane) Bermann.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial visitation and exhibition of Bev's art will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com).
