Members of the Rhinelander Lions Club will hold White Cane Day, Friday Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The yellow- vested Lions will be at Trigs and Wal-Mart, the club announced in a press release.

All the funds collected by the Lions members on these days will be used to provide vision screenings, Wisconsin Lions Camp, Wisconsin Eye Bank and leader dogs for the blind, the release states.

International Lions Clubs have aided the blind and those with eye deficiencies since 1929, when Helen Keller asked the Lions to be the Knights of Sight for those with vision disabilities.
