Bill Vancos of Rhinelander was presented with the 2019 Andrus Award for Community Service Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry. An AARP representative presented the award which is bestowed annually in each of the 50 states to recognize efforts by volunteers who best uphold the values AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus. As part of the honor, AARP also made a $1,000 donation to the food pantry in Vancos's name.
