Bates, Tornes to read selections at Rhinelander District Library
The authors will also have books available for purchase and signing following the reading, which is set for 6 p.m.
Bates is the author of nine books which focus on the natural history of the Northwoods. His most recent non-fiction book is "Our Living Ancestors: The History and Ecology of Old-Growth Forests in Wisconsin (And Where to Find Them)."
His book of poetry, Cold to the Bone, came out in 2017.
Tornes has published three award-winning poetry collections, Between the Dog and the Wolf, New Moon and Snowbound.
She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University of Utah. She has also published a collection of Ojibwe oral histories, Memories of Lac du Flambeau Elders and lives in Lac du Flambeau.
