On Aug. 2, 1958 he married the love of his life, Carol Kay Sutton, and they just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. In 1960, he went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Mill, retiring in 1997.
Duane was an avid musky fisherman, deer hunter, and loved camping with family and friends. He did woodworking for many years, including building many things for his children and grandchildren. He loved to go ice fishing, and enjoyed traveling throughout the country.
Duane is survived by his wife Carol; three daughters, Tammy, Cindy (Joe), and Debora; two sisters, Nancy and Susan; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his father Carl, mother Margaret, his brothers Robert and Jerome, sister Lu Ellen, and brothers-in-law Walter and Larry.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Cabaret Cove (formerly Taj Mahall) at 1540 Pueblo Drive, Rhinelander, WI from noon to p.m.
