A strong Christian man, Jack was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Jennie (Johnson), his father Alton "Bud" Ison, his mother, Carol Ison (DesJarlais), his younger brother Bradley "Louie" Ison, his paternal grandparents Alton Ison and Vera Flannery of Crandon, and his maternal grandparents Leo and Susie (Miller) DesJarlais of Elcho.
Jack was born on Oct. 17, 1945 in Antigo. He lived the majority of his life in Monico, where he raised his family and, together with his brothers and partners, ran a successful business. Later in his life he would enjoy spending his time between his home in Monico, his cabin in Jennings, and his home in Ocala, Fla.
He is survived on this earth by his children John (Susan) Ison, Wade (Kerri) Ison, Ron Ison, Tammy Ison, Mindy (Jeremy) Fisher, and Missy (Scott) Ison; siblings Susan (Mike) Nelson, Terry (Cindy) Ison, Al (Darby) Ison, and Becky (Mark) Ison; grandchildren Kacy Ison, Carol (Wayne) Schunk, Josh (Bethany) Ison, Katie (Tony) Ison, Ashley (Ryan) Ison, Jacob (Caitlin) Ison, Madison Ison, Micheal Richey, Wesley Ison, Braylon Ison, Parker Littleton, and Ava Ison; his great-grandchildren Rowyn, Lennon, Sydnee, Taytum, Jacob Jr., Payslee, Warren, Emma, Garret, and Mallory; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Jack loved many things in his life including hunting, fishing, bluegrass music, Fox News, NASCAR, and roller coasters, but the greatest of his loves were the Lord, his wife and family, and creating memories. Jack created many special memories for his family and friends throughout his life. He was a father and grandfather that took his children and grandchildren on many adventures from camping in the mountains of Colorado to fishing on remote lakes in Canada to lounging on the beaches of Mexico. Jack had a passion for travel and new experiences and enjoyed sharing that with his loved ones. Jack made sure to spend individual time with each one of his children and grandchildren and would never greet or leave them without a hug or kiss and an "I love you."
Jack lived a full life, leaving a trail of great stories and memories wherever he went. He made so many things possible in the lives of his loved ones that wouldn't be otherwise. He will be deeply missed for many things. He will be missed for his humor and quick wit, for his morning bluegrass concerts in the kitchen, missed for his guidance, his wisdom, his dependable advice, and for his fun and adventurous spirit. Although, there is now a significant void in our hearts, we know Jack will live on through his children, grandchildren, family and friends and all the memories he created for them along the way.
