He was born in Germany on Wednesday, June 5, 1957 to George and Dory (Gilman) Hoffhein. Sam was an Army Brat living overseas and stateside. He moved to Rhinelander in 1988, and was united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1995 to Holly A. Bradley. They have lived in Monico since 1998. Sam and Holly have been partners in S & H Trucking since 2002. Sam loved his black labs and you could always find one of them riding in the truck with him.
When Sam was home you could find him riding his Harley, listening to old time country music, watching country western movies or enjoying dessert, any kind of dessert! He also enjoyed listening to Irish music, especially the Clancy Brothers, but most of all Sam enjoyed getting together with family.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Holly Bradley-Hoffhein; one son, Samuel M. Hoffhein Jr. of Tennessee; mother, Dory Hoffhein; two sisters, Kim (Jeff) Haenel, Miki (Mike) Walker; mother-in-law, Jenny Bradley; sisters-in-law, Jill, Nikki and Joi; brothers-in-law Jack and Lee. Also surviving are his dogs, Grace and Rowan; nieces Renee Hoffhein (Mike Meyers) and Andrea Walker; nephews Josh and Matthew Walker; four great-nieces and one great-nephew. Sam is further survived by aunts, an uncle, cousins and other nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Hoffhein and an infant brother, Joseph C. Hoffhein.
