Shinners, Arrowood swim at Suamico
Samson Shinners and Brock Arrowood competed in four events each day, had lots of time drops and picked up some state cuts.
Shinners, competing in the boys' 11-12 division, won seven of his eight events. He took first in the 100-yard freestyle (58.77), the 200 individual medley (2:31.63), 50 butterfly (32.29), 100 IM (1:10.75), 50 freestyle (27.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:19.77) and 100 butterfly (1:12.10).
He finished second in the 50 breaststroke (39.49).
Arrowood, also competing in the boys' 11-12 division, was runner-up in the 50 backstroke (34.63). He finished third in the 50 butterfly (34.24), 50 freestyle (29.54) and 100 butterfly (1:24.96). Arrowood was fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:05.92), fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:16.77) and ninth in the 200 IM (2:57.77).
The Rhinelander Swim Club season will kick into high gear today at the Lakeland Sprint Invite in Minocqua.
