At the banquet, RIA officials stated that the event has raised more than $75,000 for the organization over the last 10 years. Money raised goes to lower participation costs for families. Two special presentations were made on Saturday.
PICTURED ABOVE RIGHT: Holiday Acres owner Kim Zambon presents Rhinelander Ice Arena manager Brett Aylesworth with a check for $2,644. Holiday Acres donates a portion of revenue generated by hosting visiting hockey teams during youth and high school tournaments back to the RIA. The check was the largest that Holiday Acres has presented to the RIA.
PICTURED RIGHT: Jim and Miriam Buttney draw names for the recipients of The Buttney family scholarship. The scholarships, established last year, will cover registration costs for one male and one female youth hockey player enrolled in the RIA.
