He was born in Rhinelander to Melvin and Esther (Backe) Wold on April 30 , 1936.
Larry attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1954. After his schooling, Larry worked for many years as a shoe salesman at Danner's Shoe Store in downtown Rhinelander.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool for the Flyin Fynn, and was an avid reader. He was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rhinelander and had taught Sunday school.
Larry had a great sense of humor that was always there even up until his death.
Larry is survived by his sons Rick (Cindy Romatowski) Wold of Mosinee, Todd (Peggy) Wold of Wausau; grandchildren Richard, Tara, Haley, Brooke, Cody, Terry, Kyle; six great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Allen, and sisters Melinda, and Martha.
A memorial service will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rhinelander on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. with pastor Kari Vadis officiating.
A visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
