Dori was born to Deborah (Statezny) and David Firnett on April 15, 1973 in Antigo, where she completed grade school and junior high.
She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1991 and attended UW Whitewater where she also worked assisting physically disabled adults attending college. She married her high school sweetheart Timothy Herrick on Dec. 23, 1992, becoming an Army wife, which she was extremely proud of.
Prior to her necessary early retirement, she worked in business accounting for GSI in Waukesha.
Dori was a very strong advocate for numerous chronic health conditions, human rights and general kindness. She enjoyed spending time with her husband riding in their side-by-side, camping in the Northwoods and providing support to others through her never-ending humor and endearing strong spirit.
Dori was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry and Martha Jirschele, her uncle Randy Jirschele, her father-in- law Brian Herrick and her fur-baby boxers, Kirin and Mia.
Dori is survived by her husband Timothy Herrick, her parents Deborah (David) Statezny, David (Ruth) Firnett; mother- in- law Janet (Brian) Herrick, her siblings Dionne Centner, Danyelle (John) Shaltis and Kaytee (Adam) Devroy as well as nieces ,nephews, many other family members and numerous friends around the world.
At Dori's request no funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will be held next summer in Rhinelander as well as separately in Waukesha for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers Dori asked that everyone who is able and willing please donate blood in her memory.
She was given the extended gift of life due to numerous generous donations of strangers.
