In his younger years, Larry enjoyed hunting, camping, fish fries, spending time with family raising laughter with good-hearted shenanigans, and he was always up for a feisty debate. Larry married Laquetta Theilman on May 14, 2005, and he continued to work hard at the Rhinelander Paper Company, retiring in 2017 after 46 years of service.
In retirement, Larry could be found enjoying time with his family and friends, watching the Milwaukee Brewers, lovingly cuddling with his rescue dog, Scruffy, traveling with his beloved wife, Laquetta, taking long afternoon drives with family, and giving the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. While his physical presence is no longer with us, he will always be greatly loved and fondly remembered by those left behind.
Larry is survived by his wife, Laquetta Badgley of Pelican Lake, two daughters, Nicole Badgley of Rhinelander and Tara (Derek) Badgley-Westphal of Rhinelander; four grandchildren, Mia Lars Badgley, Lillian Badgley, Samantha Zarm, and Riley Zarm; two great-grandchildren, Zayn and Kalix; a brother, Richard (Carol) Badgley of Peshtigo; as well as other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie "Sam" Badgley and Joan Badgley-Otto.
The funeral service for Larry will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Pastor Steve Price officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Town of Nashville Cemetery.
Life is precious and fragile. Please share your love with those close in your heart and embrace peace and forgiveness in the face of challenge.
