James Williams Middle School teacher John Santy recently nominated Sophia Parish for WJFW's Kindness is Cool award and she won. Sophia has been a leader in class, helping students gain a kinder perspective, school officials said in a press release. She consistently urges students to be compassionate and empathetic, and she is very welcoming and understanding of students having difficulties. She was recently featured on Newswatch 12. Sophia will also get a free cone every month for a year from Kilwin's Chocolates.
