Wayne was born July 28, 1933 in West Allis. Wayne served in the Army in Korea. On Nov. 10, 1956 he married his wife of 63 years Sallie (Strohbusch) Ebert in Beaver Dam, where they resided until they moved to St Germain. They purchased and operated Lake Content Resort until the late '70s. Wayne was also a skilled carpenter for over 55 years. He had three children, Timothy (Peggy) Ebert I of St Germain, Thomas (Wendy) Ebert Sr. of Eagle River, and Jennifer (Bryan) Punzel of St Paul, Minn. He has five living grandchildren Megan, Kali, TJ, McKenzie, and Jesse. He was preceded in death by his grandson Timothy (Timmy) W. Ebert II, sister Joyce Schaller of Groton, S.D., and three brothers Gerald of Oshkosh, Ronald of Wautoma, and Dennis of Randolph, and his parents.
Wayne was an excellent finish carpenter and loved the outdoors and wildlife. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, golf, bowling, pool; he especially liked pursuing trout in his favorite lakes and streams. He loved to deer hunt and going to South Dakota for pheasant hunting with his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Wayne's name. Arrangements were handled by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home of Eagle River. A service was held at the UCC Church of St Germain with burial in the St Germain Cemetery on May 31.
