In earlier years, George worked with the grounds crew at Rhinelander Country Club. He then was employed for 30 years at Marplex. Following the plant's closing, George was employed at the Rhinelander Home Depot until his retirement. Among his interests, George was a hobbyist taxidermist and provided many mounts for family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and anything to do with nature and the outdoors. He also loved dogs and enjoyed his pet companions over the years. George will also be remembered for his way with "B.S." and he greatly appreciated and enjoyed the visits of family and friends.
George is survived by his son, James R. (Trisha) Croner; two grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley; his former wife, Leone Croner; two sisters, Gloria (Eugene) Lundberg and Zelda (Raymond) Wiedeman; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George J. and Lillian, and a sister, Georgia.
Per George's request, there will be no formal funeral service.
