Land O' Lakes Arts welcomes Alex Spiotto as their new Marketing Manager and Program Director Assistant.

Land O' Lakes Arts (LOLA) is dedicated to promoting arts in northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In 2018 LOLA has doubled the number of individual classes taught from 123 to 298, increased the number of free events, and has reached out to the boarder community school in Watersmeet, Mich., to give students extra arts resource. With the amount of growth LOLA has had, they've decided to continue their growth by hiring a new employee to hone in on marketing as well as assist the Director of Programming at LOLA.

Spiotto's background and interest in the arts exemplified the enthusiasm LOLA was looking for.

"We are so excited to have Alex join us! With her arts management background, and her love of arts and crafts, her creative side can shine. Alex is also wanting to connect and be a part of this community, which is a perfect fit for LOLA," said Wendy Powalisz, Director of Programing at LOLA.

Spiotto received her B.A. in Arts Management and minor in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. During her studies at Stevens Point she worked with the college's dance department, marketing their annual spring showcase. She also obtained an internship with the Schauer Performing Arts Center in Hartford. Fresh out of college, Spiotto then made the move to Nashville. There she worked at a booking agency where she assisted scheduling shows for a roster of Americana and Texas Country artists across the country.

Spiotto looks forward to immersing herself in the LOLA community after spending the past three years traveling and working in the tradeshow industry. When she decided she needed a change of pace, Spiotto made the move from Chicago to Land O' Lakes to join her family who has recently moved up north as well. Upon her arrival, she first worked for Errand Solutions as a virtual concierge, but when she saw the job opening at LOLA it was an opportunity she couldn't pass up.

"It was a no brainer - there was no way I was going to let this job opportunity pass me by. Land O' Lakes captured my heart when my family would bring me as a little girl. When I finally moved here, it was not only to love where I live, but to love what I do. Now I have that opportunity with working in the arts at LOLA! I've seen how much LOLA has impacted the town thus far and I'm excited I now get to help be that impact."

There are many things Spiotto is excited for as LOLA looks to expand classes and events they offer this year. She cannot wait for the Dolores Lapp dance studio to be installed on the second level of the building which will also serve as an additional space for visual art classes. She is also looking forward to Porch Songs this summer located on right on the porch of the LOLA center. Spiotto is eager to continue promoting LOLA and looks to bring her knowledge of marketing in different forms of media. "I cannot wait to work with Wendy Powalisz and everyone involved with LOLA," says Spiotto.

LOLA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization located at 4262 Highway B in downtown Land 'O Lakes. Visit lolaartswi.com for more information.
