Kiwanis hold Winter Escapes
The Rhinelander Kiwanis Club's 32nd annual Winter Escapes Extravaganza fundraiser was bustling March 2 at the Hodag Banquet Center. This year's event raised more than $20,000. The $2,000 grand prize cash winner was Michele Riopel of Rhinelander. Todd McEldowney of Rhinelander won the second prize of $1,000. Other participants won hundreds of prizes that were donated by Rhinelander area merchants. The event has raised more than $400,000 for children's organizations and family-oriented projects in the Rhinelander community over the years. This year's big project has yet to be determined.
