Wisconsin Paper Council selects Tiffany as the trade association's 'Legislator of the Year'
"Senator Tiffany's efforts to promote and protect the papermaking industry are both recognized and appreciated by all of our members," Adam Webster, mill manager for PCA Tomahawk and WPC Board of Directors Member, said in a press release. "Tom is incredibly knowledgeable on our issues and is a strong ally that we can always depend on to fight for our industry. He is dedicated, effective, extremely hard-working, and respected on both sides of the aisle."
"As a member of the powerful Joint Committee on Finance, Senator Tiffany has led the charge to fight for increased funding for the UWSP Paper Science and Engineering Program," the release states. "He has also worked to promote sound forestry management practices, reasonable vehicle weight limits for raw timber and paper products and fair and equitable rail service for paper mills. He has also fought back against unreasonable regulations and mandates which would adversely affect the 35,000 men and women who work as papermakers in Wisconsin."
In addition, Senator Tiffany serves as the Chairperson of the newly formed bipartisan Wisconsin Paper Caucus. The Wisconsin Paper Caucus is a bipartisan, bicameral group which works together to develop common sense policy solutions which help sustain and promote the papermaking manufacturing sectors throughout Wisconsin.

"Papermaking helps drive our economy here in Wisconsin and this industry is incredibly important to all of our communities. Your commitment to sustainability is truly remarkable and I commend you for your leadership as responsible environmental stewards. It is also great to see this organization being much more active at the State Capitol and out in front of the public and the media. You have really stepped up your advocacy efforts and it is being noticed."
Wisconsin is the #1 papermaking state in the United States and its members provide family supporting jobs for over 35,000 employees throughout Wisconsin, the release states.
The Wisconsin Paper Council (WPC) is the premier trade association which advocates for the papermaking industry before regulatory bodies and state and federal legislatures to achieve positive policy outcomes.
WPC also works to educate the public and the media about the social, environmental and economic importance of paper, pulp, forestry and printing production in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.
